The World Yogasana Sports Federation (WYSF) serves as the international governing body for the yogasana sports, with responsibility for sanctioning world championship and other international yogasana sports events, establishing uniform rules, and setting standards for and recording of world records. It acts

To encourage, promote, develop, supervise and organizing the yogasana sports competition at international level
To establish and maintain necessary rules and regulations to organize and participate in international yogasana sports competitions.
To control and regulate all world, international yogasana sports competitions
To organize WYSF World Championships, Olympic qualification events and other major events,
To obtain approval and co-operate with the IOC in the organization of yogasana sports events at the Olympic Games
To ensure the safety and health of the athletes and officials
To fight against doping, corruption and bribery
To support the development of yogasana sports in member federations
To supervise yogasana sports events at national, regional and other multisport games
To support and supervise the activities of national and regional federations
To register and govern the appointment of international technical officials and educate athletes and officials
